Lulu’s Song
WRITTEN BY: ANT MCNAUGHT
I’ve been doing things
that I can’t explain,
going for walks
in the driving rain.
I thought I saw Lulu
headed home again,
coming up Apache Lane.
But Lulu’s gone the way
of my sweet Baboo.
Have to take the old
and try and make it new.
Sometimes, it’s just
about feeling blue.
Coming up Apache Lane.
Time freezes when you watch it
then it moves so fast;
a minute lasts forever
while your life flies past.
It was pouring when I left,
now it’s overcast.
I’m coming up Apache Lane.
So many gone before me,
I lost all count.
All I know today
is it’s a huge amount.
I thought I saw Lulu
headed home again,
coming up Apache Lane.
And it feels the same
every place I’ve been.
It starts out sunny
then the clouds move in.
I try to give names
to the passing clouds,
end up on my knees,
bloody and bowed.
I got nothing, really,
I’m just thinking out loud.
Coming up Apache Lane.
I’ve been doing things
that I can’t explain,
going for walks
in the driving rain.
I thought I saw Lulu
headed home again,
coming up Apache Lane.
